I think they're lying about the positive response. You still see them on other journals/comms if they don't know to turn them off, or if, shudder to think, they want them on.
What I find most annoying is that the only way you can turn Snap Previews off globally for all sites is to accept a freaking cookie from Snap. What kind of crap is that? "You're going to see this against your will unless you interact with our JavaScript and allow us to place a cookie on your machine." I said no to that and just installed the AdBlockPlus add-on for Firefox. So when I revert to free user status in May 2008 I also won't have to see any ads which I might otherwise have viewed had LJ not forced Snap Preview down our throats. I guess they kind of screwed themselves, huh?
