LOL. So I was thinking this morning, "Oh man I really should have just signed up to do art for SGA Big Bang. I'm going to feel so guilty if OT4/threesome doesn't happen." And then I got an email about participating. AHAHA. I signed up last night and totally forgot that I had! *FAILS*

I'm at my parents' house and they get BBC tv! So I've been watching a Torchwood marathon, episodes 1x08-1x12. Until now I had only seen the first ep (proudly continuing the tradition of seeing things all out of order!) and wasn't that impressed, but it turns out to be pretty watchable. Though it seems like Toshiko and Ianto get completely sidelined. In 1x12 "Captain Jack Harkness" though, wow, that kiss... I'm all a-wibble.

Two fics: both with straight!John (with a side of pining!John), both from John's point-of-view, both McKay/Sheppard, both NC-17, and both with lots of making out in bed. Other than that? Quite different stories.
Sex, Movies, and Misconceptions bythegrrrl2002 and mmmchelle. John comes across Rodney's porn collection and gets some ideas from it. It's not too hard to anticipate where the plot is going with this one, but it's a lot of fun getting there. I love John's reactions to all the porn (yep, masturbation included!) and his attempt at seducing Rodney. As always with these two authors, the dialogue is spot on and the sex is just lush and intimate - I was reminded once again of why I prefer fanfiction to porn about 9 times out of 10.
The Way Oceans Do Not Sleep bywesleysgirl This story starts post-Defiant One. Rodney isn't doing so well and John tries to comfort him. Hot and sweet and mildly porny. It seemed a tiny bit rushed, but the whole story has a level of intensity that is fairly consistent, so I think it works. Both John and Rodney have issues to work out, but the way they allow themselves to be vulnerable with each other is really lovely. It's also the one where John says, "It takes more than a little bug to kill me," and we all laugh at the silly man.

Last night we made pasta with artichoke hearts and watched Trinity and Instinct. I'm trying to catch him up so we can watch the new eps together (the whole living in different states thing makes this somewhat challenging.) He asked me what Trinity was about beforehand and I was like, well it's kind of the cornerstone of the McKay/Sheppard relationship. (He's well-versed in the slash, though I think left to his own devices he might ship Teyla/John. Or just Teyla/Teyla ;-) And then I said, wait, "cornerstone" sort of implies stability, right? Okay, maybe less cornerstone and more... large hole in the wall. Of course, then he was all WHAT? What's going to happen? I'm horrible with the almost-spoilery hints of doom...
I finally watched No Man's Land on Monday (jeez, how'd the week go by so quick?) so I'm a little late with the requisite "OMG SQUEE" post. Not a whole lot to say that hasn't been said, but basically (1) go Elizabeth with the kicking ass and taking names... ( SPOILERS RUIN LIVES. DON'T BECOME A VICTIM. ) (10) Yay, Atlantis is back! I'm just back from California after an ENTIRE DAY of airports and airplanes. I left to drive to the airport at 5:30 in the morning and got home just now at about 1:30 am. I got stuck in the Denver airport for 4 and 1/2 hours. (I took advantage of this by reading Cesperanza's Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead - which is just... mind-blowingly good and happy-making.) But now I'm home in one piece and with all my luggage (except for my bag of food, which I absent-mindedly left on a plane. It had cake in it, too!)
So, of course, now I'm wired and I started brainstorming two different stories today that I really want to work on. I'm not sure if my brain is up to it at the moment. Though maybe it would be better that way. Hey, the current sga_flashfic topic is "exhaustion" - I could work on something for that too!
Also. You know you're a grammar nazi when... you actually consider going up to the flight attendant and saying "Cell phones are allowed. The use of cell phones is allowed." SINGULAR NOUN DAMNIT! (I didn't, btw. I'm not that lacking in tact/fear.)
Also #2. The co-pilots/whatever-you-call-them say, "See you downstairs" (meaning "on the ground.") I think I heard two different ones say it today.

I was looking at the title - "In the Jumper Bay (aka RPS for Puddle Jumpers)" - and my first thought was that it was RPS for the band from trinityofone's band AU (the band is called The Puddlejumpers.) Which, actually, is not at bad idea AT ALL. In fact, now I kinda want to do it. Because you could make it soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo full of crack. But this "In the Jumper Bay" is actually the puddlejumpers (the gateships! the macaroni!) slashing John and Rodney. Which is, at 2 am anyway, kind of... disturbing. I mean. How would you feel if your car gossipped about your sex life? That's like your car naming you! Which is wrong! YOU name your CAR! My car's name is George, not that you needed to know that. Or really anything in this entry, but. Eh. There's LJ for you.
