I'm just back from California after an ENTIRE DAY of airports and airplanes. I left to drive to the airport at 5:30 in the morning and got home just now at about 1:30 am. I got stuck in the Denver airport for 4 and 1/2 hours. (I took advantage of this by reading Cesperanza's Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead - which is just... mind-blowingly good and happy-making.) But now I'm home in one piece and with all my luggage (except for my bag of food, which I absent-mindedly left on a plane. It had cake in it, too!)
So, of course, now I'm wired and I started brainstorming two different stories today that I really want to work on. I'm not sure if my brain is up to it at the moment. Though maybe it would be better that way. Hey, the current sga_flashfic topic is "exhaustion" - I could work on something for that too!
Also. You know you're a grammar nazi when... you actually consider going up to the flight attendant and saying "Cell phones are allowed. The use of cell phones is allowed." SINGULAR NOUN DAMNIT! (I didn't, btw. I'm not that lacking in tact/fear.)
Also #2. The co-pilots/whatever-you-call-them say, "See you downstairs" (meaning "on the ground.") I think I heard two different ones say it today.
Also #3: I have this story bookmarked to read later. I was looking at the title - "In the Jumper Bay (aka RPS for Puddle Jumpers)" - and my first thought was that it was RPS for the band from trinityofone's band AU (the band is called The Puddlejumpers.) Which, actually, is not at bad idea AT ALL. In fact, now I kinda want to do it. Because you could make it soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo full of crack. But this "In the Jumper Bay" is actually the puddlejumpers (the gateships! the macaroni!) slashing John and Rodney. Which is, at 2 am anyway, kind of... disturbing. I mean. How would you feel if your car gossipped about your sex life? That's like your car naming you! Which is wrong! YOU name your CAR! My car's name is George, not that you needed to know that. Or really anything in this entry, but. Eh. There's LJ for you.
