So I'm all gradumacated and stuff. Now to find summer job. Or not!

What are y'all doin' this summer?

P.S. I won a prize! For theater!

P.P.S. I keep forgetting to cross-post from dreamwidth.

Congrats on gradumacating! Woot!

Me, I'm not doing much, hanging out with friends, doing a little travelling, a little convention-going, getting prepared for the surgery thing. Trying to find more things to do with myself, now that my energy is up!

A couple of small cons in Massachusetts, including Jiffy Con next month, which is an RPG con where you get to play some of the independent role-playing games, not the big ones like D&D, etc.

And possibly one of the other local ones. Not sure yet.

Damn, Jiffy Con sounds really neat. I kind of want to go! I've read a bit about Stone Baby Games but somehow missed that they're in Greenfield.

Jiffy Con is the first weekend in June, I believe. At the comic book and games store that I'm part owner of in Northampton, we have a whole rack of those independently produced RPGs. I'm not familiar enough with the publishers to know what Stone Baby Games produced, but there are some really cool games, including the one that's based on the Adventures of Baron Munchausen, etc. I don't know what games are being planned at the con, though. There's probably a website or something for the con. We have posters for it up in the store, that's how we found out about it.

Yeah, I looked up the website. Stone Baby did "Steal Away Jordan" and it says they have a new game called "Tales of the Fisherman's Wife" that will be played there.

Any chance you might be able to come down and play? That Tales of the Fisherman's Wife looks really good, as does Time and Temp, being the time travel aficionado that I am.

Anyway, hope you can make it down!

Hey, I was hoping I might be able to come down for it but I was too exhausted yesterday. Did you have fun? Maybe I can make it next year.

I ended up not going either. I had forgotten a commitment to a friend to go shopping for her birthday, so Lija went to the con and met up with a couple of her gaming guys. She said the games were interesting. Her first game was "Shock", which she says was really fun, with a good GM. Unfortunately, the other game she played that day was interesting, but the GM had no clue how to run a game in the system, which was created by his wife, who also couldn't figure out how to run it! It was some game about angels, or something. Anyway, Lija found it very frustrating, but she stuck with it because she felt kind of sorry for them. But I'm hoping I can go next year.

Congrats on the prize as well! Woot! What sort of prize and what sort of theater presentation?

From: [identity profile] kaizoku.livejournal.com

It's a prize for contribution to "the pursuit of excellence" in theater and it's voted by ones peers. I totally didn't expect to get it (actually I'd forgotten about its very existence.) So, it's not for a particular show.

Congrats! And lols, I always forget to cross-post, too. ^^;;

As for me, this summer, I'm aiming to do some writing, and, erm, well, I haven't thought about it past that. ^^;;

Cool, writing is always good! I was on a roll for a while back in April and then I fell off the wagon...
